- A Writer Director Lab Presentation
Full Count con la Base’ Llena

Writer Director Lab 2024-2025
September 16 - September 17
A presentation of Iraisa Ann Reilly & Jean Carlo Yunén‘s Full Count con la Base’ Llena, the piece they’ve developed over the last year as a part of the 2024-2025 Writer Director Lab.
It’s the bottom half of the thirteenth inning of a Dominican league baseball game, complete with cheerleaders, a mascot, and t-shirt canons. The audience experiences the same three outs from the perspective of the dugout, the bleachers, and the press box, as the game threatens to go into even more extra innings. What seems like a meaningless mid-season match-up devolves into a dumpster fire as characters and locations intersect and secrets are revealed, leaving everyone wondering, ‘will this game ever end?’ An exploration of the subtle impact of the United States on Caribbean lives through the immigrant players that dominate America’s favorite pastime.
